Two-Year-Old Girl from Batticaloa, Dhanya Sri, Sets Cholan World Record by Reciting the Capitals of 195 Countries
Dhanya Sri, a prodigious 2-year and 10-month-old girl from Kommathurai, Chenkalady in the Batticaloa District of Sri Lanka, daughter of Mr. Kishanraj and Mrs. Pratheepa, has achieved a phenomenal milestone by flawlessly reciting the capitals of all 195 United Nations–recognized countries in the shortest time. This extraordinary accomplishment has earned her a prestigious place in the Cholan Book of World Records.
The official recognition ceremony was held today at the Green Garden Hotel in Batticaloa with great pride and honor.
Her record-breaking attempt was meticulously observed and officially validated by esteemed adjudicators: Mr. Kathiravan D. Inparasa, Deputy Secretary of the Sri Lanka Branch of the Cholan Book of World Records; Mr. Siva Varathakaran, General President of the Batticaloa District; and Committee Member Poet A. Thaniraj.
In appreciation of her outstanding achievement, Dhanya Sri was honored with an official world record certificate, a commemorative shield, a gold medal, an ID card, and a special record file by the distinguished guests.
This historic event was collaboratively organized by the Cholan Book of World Records and the People’s Helping People Foundation, and was efficiently coordinated by the Kathiravan Social Development Organization.
The chief guest of the event, Mr. N. Dhananjeyan, Commissioner of the Batticaloa Municipal Council, graced the occasion and extended his heartfelt congratulations to the young record-holder.
Prominent dignitaries present at the event included Mr. K. Suvarneswaran, Principal of Chenkalady Central College; Mr. M. Somasuriyam, Principal of the Technical College; and Ms. Sugandhi Niranjan, Educational Consultant of the Kalkudah Education Zone, who all expressed their appreciation and encouragement.
Other notable guests included Mr. Moses Jesudasan, member of the People’s Helping People Foundation; Mr. Bhakiyarasa Kathiswaran, founder of the Santhiveeli Tamil Sangam; and Ms. Perinbam Parvathi, mother of the Canadian representative of the Cholan Book of World Records.
The event was eloquently compered by Poet G. Elilvannan, while Mr. C. Sudheswaran, Secretary of the Kathiravan Arts Academy, delivered a warm welcome address.
