In this extraordinary record event, 265 enthusiastic students made history by collectively signing 104,000 Tamil signatures within just one hour, with each student completing 400 signatures. Additionally, 11 dedicated teachers contributed by signing 500 signatures each within 30 minutes, bringing the total number of Tamil signatures to 112,000.
This remarkable achievement was carried out with the noble intention of promoting awareness about the value of using the Tamil language in daily communication and official documentation—an initiative that nurtures pride in Tamil heritage. Tamil, the world’s oldest living language, stands as a symbol of ancient wisdom, literary richness, and cultural depth.
The Cholan Book of World Records (CBWR) proudly acknowledges this pioneering accomplishment as a first-of-its-kind global record, honoring the unity, commitment, and cultural devotion demonstrated by the young record holders.
Mrs. Usha Kumari, M.Sc., M.Ed., the Principal of Chettinad Public School, Karaikudi, exemplified true leadership by spontaneously joining the record attempt, signing 500 Tamil signatures on the spot to motivate the students.
