LARGEST PARTICIPATION OF STUDENTS (2,510) SOLVING THE GREATEST NUMBER OF SUMS IN 8 MINUTES USING ABACUS METHODS
An extraordinary gathering of 2,510 brilliant students came together to solve an incredible 502,000 arithmetic problems using advanced Abacus techniques through visual calculation. Each child completed 200 calculations within just 8 minutes, displaying remarkable discipline, accuracy, and mathematical speed.
Adding to this historic achievement, 1,050 students from the same group demonstrated their auditory excellence by solving 52,500 listening-based problems, with each successfully answering 50 questions.
This phenomenal accomplishment showcased sharp memory power, exceptional focus, and unmatched mental agility. The sums spanned all four operations—addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division—ranging from single- to four-digit numbers, arranged in challenging rows of up to ten.
In total, an astounding 554,500 problems were solved in a record 8 minutes, marking a world-first milestone in the history of Abacus education.
The Cholan Book of World Records (CBWR) proudly certifies this as a pioneering achievement of global significance, a shining example of how Abacus training can unlock the vast intellectual potential of young learners.
This landmark event was held on 23rd August 2025 at Temple Tree, Colombo, Sri Lanka, magnificently organized by UCMAS, the world’s leading institution in Abacus-based mental arithmetic education.
On behalf of CBWR, we extend our warmest congratulations to all the achievers and wish them continued triumph in their academic journey. We also express our sincere appreciation to UCMAS for their impeccable planning, dedicated guidance, and unwavering commitment to nurturing the next generation. Their relentless efforts are shaping smarter students today and visionary leaders of tomorrow.
